U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said today that separation of church and state is an overrated idea not necessarily dictated by the Constitution. Speaking to an overwhelmingly supportive crowd in Fredericksburg, Virginia at a "Religious Freedom Day" rally, the Reagan appointee suggested Supreme Court decisions which erected the church-state wall of separation had gone overboard.
