That's not just any tornado, it's a tornado in the desert on Riverside Co. in southern California. It flipped 30 freight cars on a train, among other minor damage.
In the Bay Area, a wildfire burned in the Santa Cruz mountains, and forecasters were, as usual, glum about the coming fire season. Another fire was burning in central California, and even the Everglades was on fire.
